Gemalto will be supplying its Sealys eCover for ePassports to Taiwan’s national printer, the Central Engraving and Printing Plant (CEPP).
As part of the solution, Gemalto will provide the Sealys eTravel ICAO Common Criteria certified software, embedded in the highly-durable passport inlay with secure microprocessor. The Sealys eTravel ICAO operating system is the fastest in the world for both reading and personalization speeds.
The inlay was selected for its exceptional durability, which passed and exceeded ICAO’s test standards.
According to the multi-year agreement, Gemalto will oversee the integration of its solution with CEPP’s existing bookbinding process and the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA)’s issuance system.
“Our ePassport secure embedded software is the key to delivering the best traveler’s experience for Taiwan’s citizens,” said Ng Fook-Seng, Senior Vice President of Government Programs at Gemalto Asia. “We will continue to further develop our offers to cement Gemalto’s position as a key enabler of secure electronic solutions for the governmental agencies we serve.”
