aoptixAOptix has been awarded a contract to develop Smart Mobile Identity devices for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). AOptix will be working with CACI International Inc., a leading information solutions and services provider, as a key subcontractor to deliver this commercial-for-classified solution to the DoD.

AOptix was awarded the contract based on the company’s unique integration of biometrics, including iris, fingerprint, face and voice recognition, with smartphone technology. This initiative for the DoD will leverage the Smart Mobile Identity platform developed by AOptix, demonstrated in September at the Biometrics Consortium Conference, which will be tailored to specific DoD requirements. By coupling state-of-the-art biometric functionality with a sophisticated smartphone interface, the AOptix Smart Mobile Identity platform provides exceptional ease of use coupled with unparalleled identity verification accuracy for in-field use, even under challenging conditions.
CACI brings a deep understanding of DoD technology and deployment criteria. The company has developed tools for managing data in secure environments that include Mobile Device Management, federated enterprise mobile app mall capabilities, and advanced encryption and secure wireless transport. In addition to meeting the U.S. government’s Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) for data security, these solutions will enable the Smart Mobile Identity device to be deployed effectively and securely in the DoD environment and scaled to fit its needs.
We are pleased to have been selected by the DoD for this important project which will leverage our next-generation Smart Mobile Identity platform,” said Dean Senner, Chairman and CEO of AOptix.Users of these systems in-field will benefit from a more compact, lightweight, versatile and accurate identity verification device than has previously been available. We are especially pleased to be working with CACI, leveraging its experience deploying sophisticated solutions for government agencies.
According to Dan Allen, President and Chief Executive Officer of CACI, “AOptix has developed a groundbreaking Smart Mobile Identity platform, and we are pleased to work with them to develop a leading-edge solution that will fill the specific requirements of the Department of Defense and military. AOptix’ open platform approach will enable us to rapidly incorporate input from the DoD and develop a product that is ready for full scale deployment.
