The Identive Group, Inc. a provider of products, services and solutions for the security, identification and RFID industries, have announced a series of management changes within the group.
Starting with news of the departure of Felix Marx, executive vice president of Transponders & Semiconductors, CEO of the ACiG Technology business unit and a director of the Company. “I would like to thank Felix for his dedication to the Company over the last three years, for his support during times of significant change, and for his many contributions – to the revitalization of SCM Microsystems with the creation of a new contactless reader portfolio and the merger with Hirsch Electronics, to the acquisition of Bluehill ID and the formation of Identive, and to helping set the foundation for our transponder division,” said Ayman S. Ashour, chairman and chief executive officer of Identive Group, Inc. “We wish Felix all the best in the next phase of his career.”
Mr. Marx has resigned from his positions at Identive and from Identive‘s Board of Directors effective December 31, 2010 but will continue to support the Company and the Board on a retained consulting basis for the next several months, focusing on issues related to the transponder division.
The Group have also announced two new appointments for the roles of Vice President Group Operations & Supply Chain and President of Identive’s Multicard division.
The first role has been filled by Brent Archer. In this newly created role, Archer will oversee global operations and supply chain activities across Identive’s businesses and product lines, with the charter to facilitate efficiency to support the Company’s growth and profitability. Archer brings a comprehensive background in global operations, manufacturing and supply chain management in the secure ID and RFID industries, including similar roles at Digital Angel, an animal ID company; ASSA ABLOY, a global leader in door opening solutions; HID, a provider of smart card-based access control solutions; and Rainbow Technologies, an encryption and information security firm. He holds a BS in Production/Operations Management from Arizona State University.

The second role has been filled with security industry veteran Marc Freundlich, who has been appointed President of Identive’s Multicard division and a Vice President of Identive Group. In this newly created role, Freundlich will join Identive to oversee Multicard’s worldwide operations, with the aim of accelerating the growth of the division’s global ID management business.
“Multicard combines deep skills in ID card architecture and Web-hosted identity management services, coupled with extensive printing, issuance and personalization capabilities, which provides Identive an excellent platform in one of the fastest growing ID segments,” commented Ayman, “Marc’s extensive experience in the ID market, his proven ability to lead and his extensive global experience make him a perfect fit to lead Multicard. Marc and I have worked together in the past and have known each other for many years. I am very pleased to welcome him to the Identive team.”
Freundlich brings a strong background in the access control and identity management market as well as experience leading global organizations to achieve revenue growth, market innovation and profitability. Most recently serving as managing partner of Global Management Solutions LLC, a strategy development and management advisory firm, his professional experience also includes the roles of President, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Inc., a leading supplier of access control and ID software solutions for hotel, casino, marine, university and military markets; President of Indala, a global market leader in secure RFID solutions; and Vice President Business Development for HID Corporation, which provides secure electronic access control and identity management solutions to the commercial, industrial and government markets. Freundlich holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Vermont.
