Back to the roots: Dr. Walter Schlebusch new CEO of Giesecke & Devrient

The Supervisory Board of Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) has appointed Dr. Walter Schlebusch as the Group’s new CEO and Chairman of the Management Board. Taking up this position on July 1, he will succeed Dr. Karsten Ottenberg, who will be leaving the company on June 30, 2013  – sooner than originally announced.
Walter Schlebusch has been a member of the G&D Management Board since January 1, 2000. He is responsible for the Banknote business unit, which incorporates banknote and security paper production, as well as banknote printing and processing.
“Dr. Schlebusch is familiar with all aspects of the company, with knowledge built up over many years. Above all, his contribution has been crucial to the success of the Banknote business unit to date,” confirms Dr. Peter-Alexander Wacker, Chairman of G&D’s Supervisory Board.
